Two recent lessons learned:
1) It is extremely hard to find a summer job without being at least 17 and without a high school diploma.
2) When you get both of those things, your initial excitement will quickly dissipate as you realize getting a job at all is extremely hard.
Suffice to say, my efforts in the summer job arena thus far have little more than failed. While I've been at this for well over a year now, I still have not found a job. However, I know people who have found jobs very easily. Not taking into account familial/friend connections, how do some snag jobs so quickly, while it takes others eons to do so (if they ever do)? Is it just life, or is there something I'm missing?
